DESCRIPTION:
"Easy to Understand and Full of Insight" according to luckyrose. This little book is full of useful insights into the miscommunication problems men and women face every day just because of the inherent differences between men and women - without judgment about either gender. The story Ms. Kittlemen tells is a simple one that just about everyone can relate to and understand. The best part is the reader comes away with practical and useful information about how to be a better communicator - regardless of the reader's gender.. Finally . Mars and Venus in plain English S.P.Cox I really enjoyed reading Why Must there be Dragons? Not only was the "story" creative and intelligent, but the "meaning" was easily ascertainable. This book equips todays leaders with a tool to help the workforce not only understand that there are indeed differences between men and women, but how to deal with those differences in a meaningful, simple way. I would recommend this book to any leader - or employee - who deals with the ramifications of gender differences in the workplace, and in my opinion that's just about all of the working world! Good initial read, and a good "tool" for coaching and leading.. Warning: This book just might make you omniscient! Rosanna Tufts Using the clever device of "casting" men and women as dogs and cats, Why Must There Be Dragons? both clarifies and transcends gender stereotypes in the workplace. The five crisis scenarios describe very real mistakes of interpersonal communication; everyone has probably found themselves tripped up by at least one of them. If you want to know how you can handle them better in the future, read Why Must There Be Dragons, and you too can become as omniscient at "Kat, the Feline Consultant!"
But SOMETIMES IT ISN'T. Any woman who has been in the workforce for any length of time has seen younger 'less talented' men get the choice assignments and the promotions and has thought: it MUST be discrimination. Why Must There Be Dragons? is a fable set in the 31st century, where dogs and cats run the world. This book is about what it IS when it isn't discrimination. Sometimes it is. The canines and felines are metaphors for men and women and exhibit traits that are eerily similar to those of their human counterparts.
