"Witty and Delightful; best read in small doses" according to Richard M. Rollo. I just finished Tom Jones, probably the longest book I've read on the Kindle so far. It is divided into 18 books with a varying number of short chapters in each book. Fielding's wit and characters survive well the test of time. Tom Jones is an illegitimate foundling raised by Squire Allworthy. When he grows up, he falls in love with Sophia Western daughter of Squire Western, a neighboring bumpkin squire who opposes the marriage for financial reasons. The other characters are vivid but too numerous to mention. The main action of the novel is set in the time of the Bonnie Prince Charlie r
