A Story of Abused Children and the Journey of Healing Wall of Silence is a story that hurts the heart. It tells of the agonies of life that many children experience today. It calls to mind, for many young adults, the traumas of growing up. It should never happen; it does. Be prepared. I highly recommend Wall of Silence. But read with the purpose of understanding the hurting hearts of these who are living (or re-living) the tragedies of being abused. Seek ways to help them open up to you; listen to them; and show them l. "A timely, tug-at-the-heart story" according to Ingrid. Loving a good book that moves quickly, this was a perfect choice. The author brings intrigue, emotion, and a little romance to a very serious story which sheds light on the very dark subject of child abuse. Dorey Whitaker does not leave her audience in that dark place, but through her characters shows that there is hope for recovery from the ill-effects of such an upbringing. I found myself experiencing fright, anguish, sadness, joy, and relief while shedding many t. Powerful book! Even though this book deals openly and honestly with the pain and horror of child abuse, it gives the reader a sense of hope. Through the love of friends and her own perseverance the main character finds meaning in her life, despite a tragic beginning. I can't wait to read the next book by Dorey!
