The tour centers around one of the most interesting highways in the world—a two-lane ribbon of asphalt winding southward to Cabo San Lucas, from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez and back again—and includes important information on border crossings, document requirements, vehicle preparation, and road conditions. Offering invaluable sightseeing tips, advice on fun activities, and detailed descriptions of campgrounds, this grand tour of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula provides both RV and tent campers with the best resources for planning a vacation chock-full of beachcombing, back-roads exploring, golf, fishing, whale watching, and water sports. In addition to describing the formal campgrounds of Baja—and featuring updated location maps, recreational opportunities, lists of facilities, and driving instructions from nearby towns and routes—this revised guide also provides telephone numbers, websites, e-mail addresses, GPS coordinates, and picture icons that offer a convenient, quick review of each campground.
Very helpful if driving and camping in Baja. This was a helpful and relatively up to date book on camping and RV use in Baja. Of necessity, the book is not current and up to the minute due to ongoing road work, especially on Mexico Highway 5 going South from San Felipe. We were just on that stretch in early March 2016, and the paved area extends well beyond Puertocitos, and on beyond Bahia San Luis Gonzaga---in fact the road gets better you go, becoming extraordinarily well done with w. And since it's almost 4 years old now, much has changed. I really, really wish Amazon required publishers to use the "Look Inside" feature, as I could have saved myself and them some time and effort. Longshadow said Great book for Baja. This book has everything we were looking for when traveling to Baja Mexico. Being the first time traveling there we wanted to know the best RV place to stay, road conditions, restaurants and info about border crossing. This book more then delivers, recommend it highly.
