DESCRIPTION:
This charming book puts a new twist on the phenomenon by showcasing female Buddhist deities in a delightfully unusual format. Four important goddesses appear here. The home altar has become an increasingly popular tool for contemporary seekers, allowing them to tap their spirituality informally, at any time of the day. Designed to resemble a Tibetan temple, the book presents stunning three-dimensional renderings of traditional thangka paintings. With the assistance of these colorful altars and an informative text about the symbolic art, visualization can blossom into multidimensional meditation.. White Tara pacifies illness and removes obstacles; Vanshudara increases prosperity, fertility, and happiness; Kurukulla helps attract and influence through the power of love and desire; and Vajrayogini aids in developing the enlightened union of Great Bliss and Emptiness. It features doors that open from the middle of the front cover, a sturdy tab-insert closure, and elastic loops to hold each altar firmly in place
"Get some Great Goddesses in your life" according to G. Campbell. Some may think these pop-up books are corny but I am not one. Hey, this is all illusion anyway and what better religion than colorful and chaotic Tibetan Buddhism to help us see thru our creations. In any case, the world badly needs all the Goddesses it can get right now. So put this book up where everyone can see it. Then relax and breathe deeply. Setting the Mood for Yoga This book is exactly as described. It is a lovely pop-up book for adults. There are beautiful 3-D cut-outs of Buddist Godesses, suggested mantras, and meanings. Although I probably would not travel with it because I have too much else to take, it is great for creating a nice and colorful yoga and meditation corner.. Goddess gracious me! Amazon Customer The 'book' consists of pop-up altars for White Tara, Red Tara, Vasudhara (six-armed form) and Vajrayogini. I found the imagery to be quite beautiful and inspirational. I was worried that the book would feel gimmicky, but that's not the case. These are ideal altars if you don't have the space or resources for something grander. Also makes an unusual gift - two Wiccan friends (female) have been delighted.
