There I was just sitting there reading the "HG Wells Huge Collection" on my Kindle when what you think showed up? You guessed it "The Empire of the Ants." Well this is not quite the movie but it is HG Wells at his best.As with most of Wells's short stories, he put just enough information in there to get you to speculate and then it's over. Very nice idea, but, in fact, the story will only let you wonder what it is all about. There are just no solid description of anything, the characters barely come face to face with the supposed 'highly inteligent new species of ants', and absolutely nothing really happens, except for some depiction [quite interesting though] here and there about sailing the Amazon River. That's all, folks!Anyway, I wouldn't ever tell you not to read it. It's just no waste of time. Maybe it just didn't live up to my expectations.;]
