Excellent! An excellent book for anyone who wants to know how to build a great house. This book will give you the insights in a very simply way that allows anyone to understand the process of construction. If you want to understand what the engineer will be telling you or describing and even be aware of what they are doing right and wrong, this is the book you want to get. Delatorre Considering that I was able to buy this eBook on one of Amazon's fantastic Kindle Daily Deals (less than $3.00), my review could only be better if the edition was newer than 5 years old. Am I a stickler? No, because building codes typically change every 5 or so years, so you'll have to be sure you check local building codes in addition to the content of the book. Hence, the 4 star rating. However, that said, the book itself is very well written, extremely informati. So Disappointing For a book this expensive, it should have better illustrations. It is 85 % black and white and so poorly 2-dimensional that you cannot properly understand what they are illustrating. Your best best it to get the Do It Yourself Home Improvement: Step by Step Guide to Home Improvement by Julian Cassell, Peter Parham and Theresa Coleman(Oct 16, 2006).
