I've called this one of my favorite books ever since I was a small child I've called this one of my favorite books ever since I was a small child. I thought I had one in a box somewhere butcouldn't find it so I had to order another one. The first person I read it to, would you believe was an 81 year old wholoved the book when she was young, too. As a teacher I chose to read it to one of the "challenging" classes that I ended upwith one year and they loved the book but my intention was for them to realize the behavior and characteristics of the childrenand learn some things about themselves!!. "Can't wait to start this series with my kids!" according to Ken Remijn. So excited to read these books to my children and I had the older ones down in the series but these are so fresh and new looking! can't wait to get started tonight. This book came in perfectly new order and is great for reading to my 6-8 year old children. I'm sure younger and older would do well also!. Best book for children ever Best book for children ever! I read this book 70 years ago and have never been able to forget it. I had to get it to read to my grandchildren. I loved the way the children bonded, took care of each other, and learned self-sufficiency. Great teaching book - tender and a little tense.
