DESCRIPTION:
Long Winded Essay Charles P. Martin Of the numerous books I've read on the subject, this is by far the worst. It's basically 200 pages of the repeatious advice to study the work of the great masters - but don't copy their technics or styles, just develop your own. The illustrations found in this book are so small, you literally need a magnifying glass to study most of them.If you are looking for some instruction in how to develop your own composition, technics, or style, you'll find books like "Rendering In Pen and Ink," or "The Technical Pen" much more beneficial. Both have numerous full page . "Review of The Art and Techniqu of Pen Drawing" according to Christy Steele. Before I bought this book I had absolutely no experience in ink drawing, but had always wanted to try it out. Upon receiving this book I began reading it and checking aout all the different drawings in the book. I have been practicing a lot and I found this book very helpful in explaining different techniques that help to make your drawings more realistic. i would definitley recomend this book to anyone wanting to learn to draw with ink as alternative to pencil drawing. I personally find ink drawing much more enjoyable.
