Obviously the one organ is involved and there is therefore some sense in covering both, but including urethral strictures and all other aspects of urethral surgery is a huge undertaking for a single author (or is it multi author ?).The table of contents is certainly comprehensive and I cannot think of anything significant he has omitted.Dr Yachia is, as you will know, a very well known Urologist on the International scene. He has a wealth of experience in this particular field and, perhaps most importantly, has considerable experience of producing excellent and well reviewed Urology textbooks.I h
This book provides practical surgical solutions to congenital or acquired penile anomalies and diseases to the practicing urologist who encounters them in their daily practice. It also discusses the best way to approach these patients, and how best to evaluate them. The reader therefore, can see the book as surgeon-to-surgeon advice on the best methods of dealing with the problems surgically, and also of sensitively managing the patients concerns and worries.. Starting from surgical anatomy, through to examining the various types of penile abnormalities that can occur, Daniel Yachia gives easy-to-follow practical details on the procedures he performs to ensure successful outcomes, not as in a "cook book" but by presenting the principles of these surgical procedures
Blake said Good book in its category. Very informative book, gives clear examples of anatomy, genetic problems and how to fix them. Also useful for someone interested in modifying the penis such as meatotomy or subincision.
