Perfection I read the paperback version and found it to be enlightening. It is written by someone who studied dance, practiced aikido and then taught tai chi for decades after learning from true masters. Anything written by this author is highly credible to me and perfect.. One of the best books available on the subject for westerner This is a great book, giving a balanced pespective on the practice and surrounding aspects of Tai Chi. If you practice Tai Chi and have been looking at the books available, then you probably understand that style specific content isn't very useful for most of us. The differences in styles and instructors combined with the non-photogenic nature of Tai Chi make the photo sections all but useless. This book doesn't spend a lot of time trying to teach the specific movements, but how to feel when doing them. This is the best part of any Tai. "A mixed bag of a book with a definite New Age slant" according to Somanybooks. Before I get to what was wrong with the book, I should mention a couple other things. The writing by the authors was very well done, interesting, and often inspirational. I enjoyed it a lot. And I'm not competent at all to judge the quality of the translated tai-chi-related passages because I know no Chinese. The main problem with the book is that the authors don't know how to do traditional tai chi. (I am not talking about what many Chinese practitioners politely refer to as "American tai chi", a wide range of physical activities that
