DESCRIPTION:

This is fun for readers but not for the main character. VERDICT A fun read-aloud.—Tanya Boudreau, Cold Lake Public Library, AB, Canada . The narrator's surprise appearance at the end helps Snappsy realize that it's good to have people in your life who push you out of your comfort zone every once in a while. From School Library Journal PreS-Gr 2—Snappsy the alligator finds himself in a book he doesn't want to be in. He leads a quiet, simple life, but the narrator (a chicken who likes to dance and throw parties) purposely misinterprets his every move. The simple cartoon art is a hoot. "This is terrible!" Snappsy says. "I'm just hungry! Why is this rude narrator trying to make it seem like I need a nap?" Falatko's debut book demonstrates the power of storytelling through words and pictures

Deborah Petty said This is just such a fun and clever book. This is just such a fun and clever bookKids will love how it's weird and unpredictable in the funniest ways but still accessible and worth many reads. Kids who are big readers will especially love the interaction with the narrator. The illustrations are fantastic and bright too. Super.. Mark J. Pescatrice said This is a funny book for kids. This is a funny book for kids, with a few jokes for us big kids, too. The plot is not terribly complex or deep, but it was a hit with our 5 and 7 year olds. The illustrations are really good and bound to make you smile.Recommended.. My kids (7 and 9) thought it was hilarious. Lisa K. My kids (7 and 9) thought it was hilarious. Though the words are simple, the reader must understand the situation being implied, so it's not for very small children - a bit more sophisticated humor.
