Kug said The Definitive Work on PTSD with real heroism attached. I wasnt sure why I bought this book and then I couldnt put it down. I am a former Nam Marine sniper with PTSD, only diagnosed since the Iraq War started. And this guy hit the nail on the proverbial head. Dont make the mistake of just thinking this is another war story. While it is a war story, of a Marine who was awarded the Navy Cross, it is a raw and gripping story of honesty. PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and it is one of the effects of having been in, and survived combat. People who have experienced combat situations can experience it as a result of the immense tension and stress of combat. Because you are doing things and seeing things that are violent, gory, and very intense, your brain reacts to the shock and fatigue with this reaction.
