Rich Hendey has truly redefined the sport of sea kayaking while staying remarkably in tune with kayak novices. I once saw this guy execute a triple barrel roll in rough seas with 6 foot swells and he never lost his sunglasses! Word is that Hendey is contemplating a ride over Niagara Falls this summer (the first ever for a kayak). I don't know if that is true or not, but if there is one guy who could pull it off it is "Whammo" Hendey.Also, Hendey will be inducted this fall into the Sea Kayaking Ha. A Customer said Hendey is a kayaking god!!!. Anyone who knows anything about kayaking knows that Rich Hendey is the ultimate authority on the sport. I met Rich in 1986 in Gettysburg, PA. He helped me master the treacherous waters in and around the area. This is a guy who I have spent lots of one on one time with. He used to say to me, "Housely, there is only one way to kayak -- all the way!"
