"Eye-opening!" according to Jerri Keele. This book opened my eyes to the barbaric practices in racing. Think of what a wonderful and refreshing sport it could be if we treated these magnificent companion animals with the respect that they are so deserving.. William Baehr said Decent Person's (Troublemaker's) View of Racing Industry. Ms. Seidel, who is from Germany and was trained in racing thoroughbreds there. While employed as a training rider in the U.S. she wanted answers to good questions about many of the suspiciously abusive training practices of the U.S. racing industry like the constant use of drugs. Her U.S. track associates failed to give her satisfactory answers. She got the typical U.S. treatment of questioners by being stonewalled which is not surprising. What is surprising is that she didn't get fired as a whistleblower/troublemaker. Welcome to the U.S., the land of willful ignorance, cover-ups and a. "Love of Horses" according to Amazon Customer. Marion has written another great book. This time sharing the differencs in Eurpean horse racing to American horse racing. This book and her first book helped me learn more about hores and the horse racing industry. A must read for hores lovers this book is from Marion experices in Europe and the states with horse racing.
