DESCRIPTION:
There's no such thing as too many realities The poetry and prose in Druitt's "On Yaje Nights" touched me on several levels. As a visual artist (painter) I delighted in the imagery so beautifully described. The concept of multiple realities threading in and around each other throughout the book touches my spiritual beliefs. The admiration I feel for those unafraid of expanding the human experience using unconventional means was stoked. Most of all, I felt a camaraderie with the author in that I feel that we both approach our art as a means to communicate to those who share it that going . "Journey of the Spirit" according to Lizette. Beautiful account of a personal and intimate journey of the spirit through the overwhelming, quantum experience with sacred teacher plants and the healing work of "curanderos". Following an introduction that coherently explains how, where and when these experiences took place, we dive into an ocean of poetry and love inspired by the author's encounters with spirit beings, plant and animal powers and his own spiritual growth and cleansing. The creative response to the enlightenment process, such as the poems and poetic prose used in the final p. A glimps into other worlds Richards poetry allowed me to visualize alternative realities. The imagery that they envoked was refreshing and misterious. His sharing of the experiences with Ayahuaska were reminders of the many parrallel worlds and beings all around us we interact with yet never see. Thanks to the plant kingdom and the knowledge of shaman to concoct the right combinations that allow us to peak into these other worlds.
On Yaje Nights is a tribute to yaje, ayahuasca, the Vine of The Dead. Using poems, songs and visions, the author reveals his experiences with the sacred remedy whilst working with Peruvian and Colombian healers.
