I'm still not sure what the publishing arrangements were for this book, but I noticed it in B&N long before I actually bought it. It doesn't bear the imprint of any major art publisher, but the reproductions are flawless and, given the book's page size, very impressive. This is a very well written, comprehensive, yet simple explanation of America's "gems" of Impressionist Artists that arose from the beautiful countryside of Pennsylvania in New Hope and the encompassing Buck's County. The author's attention to detail, especially with the color plates expresses why we should embrace such valuable artistry. It would behoove our American educational institution. "Powerful" according to Lisanicole Sarkisian. The plates in this book are amazing. I had never seen American art like that before. A walk through it is truly a joy. Well orchestrated and integrated.
