"Badly written/ edited" according to Elle. Having visited India several times and looking for a story to remind me of the experiences, I am finding the writer's observations very amateur, even simply for someone who has traveled to other countries, some comments are exaggerated in a way that I'm guessing is suppose to make the book funny(?), like all experien. "What a delight!" according to Nina. This is a travel log by a gifted writer with a keen wit and a laugh out loud sense of humor. Think Mark Twain meets Bill Bryson, though Parker's style is his own.Parker's unpretentious approach to both the lighter and more sober realities of life in India from a western perspective make for a delightful and engaging . Enlightening & funny It was entertaining & informative to read about the real India from a Canadian professor of English's point of view .
