Great gift book! After reading, I bought copies for both of my adult daughters as well I also made it a "coffee table book" as it is Extremely readable and has an appealing cover. The stories are obviously genuine and from the heart of the author, who seems to have a "horse whisperer" type of connection with her horses. I definitely recommend this book to horse enthusiasts as well as all animal lovers. It does make an excellent gift esp for "horsey". "A wonderful book written from the heart!" according to Ella Eavers. From page one, this book was an extremely enjoyable and captivating read that I did not put down. The author tells tales of her decades as a horsewoman. She includes stories that touch the readers heart in many ways. I personally laughed and cried as I read through the heartfelt stories of her horses, riding students, and her family. This book contains several photographs of the horses which made the book come to life. A must read f. A Heartwarming Read I am not a "horse person", but found the book heart warming and very interesting. The author's love of horses and farm life in general is communicated in her writing. It was also evident that the author is a teacher at heart, as I learned a great deal about equine behavior, anatomy, and care as a side bar while reading the book.
