Jim Morrison said Handy guide by highly experienced authors. This is a great guide to the basics of first aid in the mountains, whether it is a climbing or backing situation. For a fairly short book (170 pages or so) it covers a lot. Combine this with the chapter on first aid and alpine rescue in "Mountaineering the freedom of the Hills" (same publisher) and you have about everything you need.
