"Minor White is one of the greatest of photographers

"Minor White is one of the greatest of photographers. The sheer beauty of the medium of photography is tuned to the exact meaning and feeling of the visualized image. Indeed, White's omnipresence in the photographic world has made it easy to forget at times that he has remained first of all an artist: a photographer who has made some of the medium's most memorable pictures."--John Szarkowski, Director of the Department of Photography, The Museum of Modern Art. His photographs are a fresh revelation and a new enticement to touch and embrace worlds beyond human experience."--Ansel Adams"The quality of his prints is inseparable from the beauty and mystery

A Passage Worth Undertaking Stuart Murdoch For some reason monographs of and about Minor White seem far and few between. This is a welcome book as a consequence. I would however have liked to have seen the photographs and text organised in a different way, keep the information about home separate from the images themselves.I've not seen much of Minor White's work in the flesh so I can't comment on the quality of the reproductions, but the book itself is a delight to hold and look at.
