I suppose they are trying to build an audience for both genres. I bought the book only for the Lois McMaster Bujold story, "Winterfair Gifts" set in her Vorkosigan universe. As with almost all Bujold's works, this story is well worth the price of the book all on its own. Bujold fans will enjoy this story featuring Sergeant Taura and Armsman Roic with Mile's impending wedding as the backdrop. It's a solid piece of work and makes me miss Bujold's writing about these characters as she . Five Stars great read. A mixed lot Like so many I bought this book for Bujold's story and enjoyed it immensely. The second story by Putney almost put me off the rest of the book. Characters, storyline, writingall bleah. Stover and Asaro's stories convinced me not to bother reading any more of their work. Roberson's was well written and enjoyable but it is Beverley who engaged my interest enough to look for more.
