Don't get down, the class isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. But, if you want to do well in the class, I would highly suggest getting the book. If not for personal study in your free time, definitely for the in-class, open-book q. Amazing textbook This book is great for understanding structural analysis. It is well laid out with plenty of examples and a huge number of practice problems. It was suggested but not required for a course I took, it made the course infinitely easier.
