a good read Jzapper I read this book about 10 years ago. I remember the first few chapters being amazing because both my husband and I fit exactly with the needs as described. My brother and his wife are going through lots of issues and I decided to see if I could find it here on amazon. I saw it had some one star reviews and twos, and wanted to see what they were given for, because I enjoyed it so much more than that. I will say, I can see a lot of the points given in those one star reviews. It was written in a different time, true. HoweverI didn't get f. "A little instrospective but overall, effective material for marriage strengthening" according to CT. We read this book as alongside our participation of the 9-week Marriage Dynamics workshop classes offered by our local community church. We purchased both the hardbound and the Kindle version of the book so that we could read it separately. This review focuses on the book content.For the most part, the book directs you to evaluate yourself and your spouse with a fine-tooth comb. Since no marriage is perfect, the evaluation is bound to expose or even highlight certain weaknesses. This part did not come across very positive or upbuilding. Pastor Les said A tool in the hands of a spouse. I would recommend this book to any spouse desiring to know the proper needs of their spouse to enjoy the benefits of marriage.Just like the right tool in the hand of a carpenter, mechanic, or even a layman, it makes it easy for the worker to get the job done and done right.If your marriage is good, this book makes it better. If your marriage is on the rocks, it will give you insight to your spouses needs so that you can work on your marriage.
