DESCRIPTION:
Somehow I thought this book was boring when I first read it before reading it to K. MURALI We are Sandra Boynton fans. All her books are a hit here. Somehow I thought this book was boring when I first read it before reading it to my then 20 month old (Born sep 2014). Boy did she prove me wrong. She loves this book just like she loves Barnyard dance and whats wrong little pookie. If you are an expert in making animal sounds, and your tod loves animal sounds(which one doesn't) this is a good book.Cons: this is a very short book. No story nothing, just silly write up that could amuse toddlers.Pros: hey my dd learnt to say few new words 'excited' 'amused' and 'confused'. I can. Absolutely Adorable. Toddler and Teacher approved! I am a former special education teacher with my Master's in Literacy grades 1-6. I love Sandra Boynton's books. They are adorable, fun to read and most importantly child approved. I've given her books as gifts as well and the parents have loved them. They are definitely geared toward children below 3 I would say, but that would depend on the child as well.As a mom and teacher I highly recommend these books.. ABL said Fun but not so educational book.. Adorable, our toddler loves reading it. The typical great illustrations and rhythmic flow to the writing you'd expect from Sandra Boynton, but don't expect this to really teach anything about moods. You'll need to ad lib that. I did like that it talked about moods as being a passing/temporary thing (expect for the duck).
/ He's always this way.’ Guaranteed to knock the bad mood out of anyone, duck included.”- Kirkus Reviews July 1, 2011 *STARHappy Hippo, Angry Duck: A Book of MoodsSandra Boynton. ‘And a difficult mood is not here to stay / Everyone's moods will change day to day / Unless you're that duck. / Or you're FRAZZLED LIKE A umFRAZZLED THING. Boynton's signature style gives zany animation to her trademark cartoon characters (dog, rabbit and moose, for starters). Springy rhythmic phrases engage the audience. “Perhaps, like a pig, you are SWEETLY AMUSED, / Or perhaps, like a cow, you're COMPLETELY CONFUSED.” Pacing naturally rolls along through its conversational voice and irreverent asides. "Hello, Little Person!/ How are you today?" greets a concerned-lookin
Young readers are sure to giggle as interactive text asks them if they are "grumpy as a moose or excited as a dog?" Maybe they're "worried as a rabbit or contented as a frog?" This new Boynton board book covers the first concept of moods with her charming, trademark sense of humor.. Are you HAPPY AS A HIPPO?Or ANGRY AS A DUCK?Maybe SAD AS A CHICKEN? (Can you sadly say "CLUCK CLUCK"?) Bestselling author Sandra Boynton is back in this all-new board book about moods. Boynton's clever animals exemplify a wide range of emotions in this hilarious story about different feelings
