He knows he can keep Lord January away from the drugs and the groupies, but saving Jeff might force Jeff to choose between his career as Lord January and his very life.
"Introspective And A Bit Slow" according to Alan Arthur Katz. I have to admit that "Guarding January" was, in places, a bit too slow for me. In fact, the whole book was a little more internalized than I might have preferred.It's the story of two men: "Lord January" (LJ), a rock star, whose real name is Jeff Smart - though he's somehow lost track of that person beneath the image of the very public rock star; and Rye, who is not a man, he's a mountain, a gorgeous mountain, of course, hired to be LJ's babysitter/bodyguard. LJ has spent the last ten months in rehab . Sinfully said I am highly recommending this book.. Rye Summers, body guard extraordinaire who was big enough not to let anything phase him. So when he secures a job working as Lord January’s (LJ normal name, Jeff) body guard he appreciates the challenge the young man will apparently be. Going into the job Rye is told LJ is self-destructive with a drug habit, who has just finished 8 months in rehab. What he found was underneath his stage persona, Jeff was a really nice, tired guy.This book is a lot about expectations - Jeff had to play Lord Janua.
