Good 1st try This was a good story. Strong enough to keep my interest going to the end. KUDOS to Ms. Mar if this her first book - I would read another book from her. I do have to say it was an expensive book.. "A visual and spellbinding read" according to Isabelle Sobjack. Golden Gate is the kind of book you can't put down. From start to finish it captures the reader and takes them on an intriguing and spellbinding journey. I liked the visual quality of this story. The author uses words to paint a picture of mystery, corruption, betrayal and deception. The characters in this book are complex and fascinating. Julia and Maggie meet under very unusual circumstances and fall in love. There are many plot tw. "Costly for selfpublishing" according to Susan Dowerly. Although the story line was fair, the cost of this self publishing wasn't. When a writer attempts to break into the writing world of Lesbian fiction, they should select to do their very best a presenting a book that would please the readers for the cost involved. This wasn't worth the money spend, nor will I purchase anything else by this author or this desk top flub of a publisher.
