Better than the Original Series A. C. I never actually finished the first Fushigi Yuugi (though I got really close). I just found the Miaka x Tamahome thing a bit irritating after a while, and Miaka is super immature, which is less appealing as you get older. This series has a much better heroine in my opinion. Takiko is really great, as are the other characters. There's definitely some sappy romance, but it's much better than the original series. The story flows well, and progresses at a reasonable pace. I can't wait 'til they release the next one! [You don't need to read the original series to enjoy t. Yay! mikoyoukai I'm so happy this finally came out! It feels like Genbu Kaiden was on hiatus for forever! And as always the book leaves you restless and awaiting the next volume.. Great Story I am a fan of Yuu Watase Fushigi Yuugi series. This one in particular is very engaging and the heroine, Takiko, is not your typical damsel in distress. She brings her fighting skills to the table and doesn't need someone to constantly save her. I highly recommend this story if you like chicks that fight and stand on their ground. I know I do!! (^v^)/
