DESCRIPTION:
Unlike other texts, this one takes the theory to a hands-on level by actually solving problems. Emphasizing hereditary phenomena, the book goes on to discuss continuum and discrete damage mechanics as well as delaminations. The text also shows readers how to extend the capabilities of Abaqus via "user subroutines" and Python scripting.. More than 50 fully developed examples are interspersed with the theory, more than 75 exercises are included at the end of each chapter, and more than 50 separate pieces of Abaqus pseud

"Do not waste your money and buy this book" according to Mohammed. Do not waste your money and buy this book. Author does not know in Abaqus, he wrote this book to make business.. "Practical and excellent book" according to Amazon Customer. Definitely, Dr. Barbaro wrote an excellent book that covers from the main problems about composite structures analysis up to more specific and complicated concerns such as delamination, viscosity and damage's mechanic. An excellent guidance to implement finite element models of composite structures. Also, it incorporates from the most thorough model until easier model analysis ready for students and engineers. Surely a good baseline about theory and implementation. I recommend a previous knowledge about composite structures to squeeze the most of this book although it explains the main background abou. Amazon Customer said Five Stars. really nice book to start with software
The text has a good mix of finite element theory and composite material concepts that are reinforced through the example problems. Sosa, West Virginia University "The book is essential for any academic in the area of solid mechanics. It has both theory and applications using the finite element method. Lastly, exercises are included at the end of each chapter. The later chapters in the book will be of great interest to the engineers and researchers interested in modeling the failure and post-failure behavior of composite structures. The structure of the book is easy to follow as every chapter starts with an introduction and then the theory and examples are thoroughly developed. Some of the most common problems that the practicing engineer has to face when designing with composites using finite element analysis are covered in detail. I use this book with my students, as the subject and the ma
