DESCRIPTION:

A very enjoyable introduction The writing style of this book is very good, and there is a bit of light hearted humour here and there.I fact I find it rather hard to put down, which is rather rare for a technical book like this. It's very well pitched for someone like me who has ha. extends Davies book How to define and find features in an image is the core of this book. Unlike broader texts on image recognition, like Davies' Machine Vision : Theory, Algorithms, Practicalities, Nixon and Aguado specialise to what researchers might regard as a cruci. Pavel Vlasanek said great book; good delivery. Very useful book, full of great informations, accompanied of many examples. Very fast delivery (to Czech Republic), but book came slightly damaged.

Whilst other books cover a broad range of topics, Feature Extraction and Image Processing takes one of the prime targets of applied computer vision, feature extraction, and uses it to provide an essential guide to the implementation of image processing and computer vision techniques. Acting as both a source of reference and a student text, the book explains techniques and fundamentals in a clear and concise manner and helps readers to develop working techniques, with usable code provided throughout. The new edition is updated throughout in line with developments in the field, and is revised to focus on mathematical programming in Matlab.* Essential reading for engineers and students working in this cutting edge field* Ideal module text and background reference for courses in image processing and computer vision* Companion website includes worksheets, links to free software, Matlab files and solutions
