One author, Mary Ellen Sweeney, Ph.D, has taught ethnography at the graduate level, while the other, Brooke Walker, Ph.D., is a specialist in dealing with gifted students.As a research methodology wonk, I found this book to be as good as any I've read. It will assist the middle school instructor to introduce students to sound and rigorous social science research. The approach and techniques can easily be generalized across the scientific me. I wish I had the Authentic Ethnographic Research in the Classroom guide when I started. This curriculum is well organized and sequenced. It will serve as an excellent resource for the rookie or veteran in the planning of a highly effective interdisciplinary unit that is authentic, creative, and engaging.
