good ideas, badly written Sloane Cannella unfortunately doesn't live up to the enticing title of the book. While she makes several crucial arguments, they are lost in repetative convoluted language. My major frustration with the book was that she spends the entire time going on about the subjugation of the knowledge and experience of "younger human beings" and yet does not include their voices in her text. I was left with the question, "How do children feel about all of this?" What I did find useful. Mildred J. Lane said If there are real concerns about how we educate during the early childhood period I'd like to hear them. Lots of suppositions but no evidence. First of all, the quality of this book to me is brand new. Second, the author has some rather rational but interesting opinions. I got a lot of inspirations from it.
