Additional images illustrate the position and orientation of these structures in the living animal, as they would most commonly be encountered, either in the course of a physical examination (for example the viscera or reproductive organs in a rectal or vaginal examination), or as they present in the prone animal, during a surgical procedure. This new volume is the first photographic atlas of equine anatomy to integrate illustrations of prepared specimens with correlative images of the same structures as visualised by each of the commonly used imaging modalities; radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy. "Wasted good science to show off being 'artsy'" according to K. Partridge. What a waste, they chose to value artistic page lay out, more then making the names easy to read. Each page has lots of white space and a pretty light blue box. However the names of the anatomical parts are relegated to a small area and a smaller font than is needed. So, sad that they did not value the fine work they did getting these photos. It could have been much more useful. No matter how fancy they pages are designed, the subject is not a coff. J. Williams said wonderful detailed photos of horse anatomy!. I am a pre-vet student and I have learned so much from this book. This book shows and names everything inside of the horse. It is very graphic with photos of freshly dissected specimens that are clearly labeled. I do recommend knowing some medical terminology or buying a veterinary dictionary along with it though because it is very advanced.. radresident said radiology resident review. Good balance of detail and simplicity. Good inclusion of basic imaging ie rads and basic tendon ultrasound. Worth buying.
