Rising newspaper reporter Hope Jensen uncovers the secret behind the "Christmas Jars" glass jars filled with coins and bills anonymously given to people in need. But Hope discovers much more than she bargained for when some unexpected news sets off a chain reaction of kindness and brings above a Christmas Eve wish come true."
On Christmas Eve, twenty-something Hope Jensen is quietly grieving the recent loss of her adoptive mother when her apartment is robbed. Eager to learn the source of this unexpected generosity, Hope uses her newswoman instincts to find other recipients of "Christmas jars," digging until her search leads her to the family who first began the tradition of saving a year's worth of spare change to give to someone in need at the holiday. Still, the heart of this novella is its transformative message about the power of giving, a compelling theme that calls to mind books like Pay It Forward and The Kingdom Assignment.Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. . Ending was better then the book Hi! I recently bought this book from Amazon. Unlike the other reviews that had some negatives about certain aspects of the story/writing, I personally didn't care about them. Don't care what town it took place in, don't really care about timeframe (present day, 1870's). I am not a writer so I can't complain about how the writer wrote the story. I bought this book because I recently read The Note after watching it on TV so I wanted to read the book. I felt the TV movie was better then the book; movie was "sweeter", plus it ha. TEARS ROLLED DOWN MY FACE Audio 3 cds unabridged Barbara Lane I had to wait a day before composing myself to write a review. I never cried so much in the middle of a audio before. What a moving incredible story. A must for anyone wanting to understand the generousily of some people at Christmas. So much of our lives are a result of another's actions. Hope Jensen was abandoned as a baby, left on a booth seat at the Chuck's Chicken `n' Biscuits, six miles outside of town on Highway 4. Abandoned, but then found by an unsuspecting Louise Jensen who always stopped by Chuck's on New Year's Ev. I love that it's spread so far and wide Amazon Customer I have read the Christmas Jars twice. I have given 8-12 copies away as gifts. I was very moved by the "Tradition". I love that it's spread so far and wide. I hope to keep givings jars & books away for years to come.
