From Publishers Weekly An explosive prologue sets the stage for Nix's riveting continuation of the story begun in Sabriel and Lirael. Wonderful and emotional finale Wonderful and emotional finale. I loved seeing how a couple characters came full circle and a big revelation that came out of nowhere. The very end made me cry a bit, when I rarely cry while listening to or reading books. I'm so happy though that the series isn't over. Creative magic system, genuine characters and a world I kinda wish was real. Nix is one of the bosses of fantasy.. Amazon Customer said I believe I am Mogget incarnate.. This has been a staple since childhood, and grew up with me.On face value, it's a wonderful story of good triumphing evil. As I got older, I realized that Nix toys with the concept of life and death artfully, as well as going deep into feminism, as well as touching other modern issues like refugee accommodation and abuse.. Fantastic series. I have read Nix's books since I was in elementary school and discovered the Keys to the Kingdom series, which I anxiously awaited each book until the series finished in 2008. By far, to me this series is his best work. It's imaginative, unique, and enthralling. I would recommend it to anyone, honestly.
