DESCRIPTION:
I agreed to read it, because I know what it is to have written a book and be unable to induce any professional to look at it. The author, Sherry Newcomb, is suffering from encephalitis. Her existence has come to a standstill as she gropes for the memories of her past life. If you are a reader of Christian novels and romances, I think you will find this book very entertaining and satisfying. At the least I hoped there might be a worthwhile plot, and with enough work it might be made usable. Many of those memories are found in some form in this book which she typed into her daughter's computer shortly before being stricken down. . To my surprise and delight I found not only a good plot and strong characters
Enchanting This is a wonderful book written by an incredible woman. I began reading this book after finding out that the author suffers from a debilitating disease, which has robbed her of much of her memory since writing this book. It's a delightful story about a young woman trying to find her place in life. This story is set in the mid-twentieth century in the American Midwest—Chicago and the Sand Hills of Nebraska. The story is told by a young woman whose family has fallen from wealth to poverty. She fights the salvation and the beautiful love that God has planned for her, but in the end He wins. It is written with great sensitivity for that time and locale. Her younger brother, for whom she assumes responsibility, battles crippling polio, and she blames God for these misfortunes. Many delightful characters and an exciting mystery make this a book you won't put down.. A terrible automobile accident seems to be the crowning blow, and she leaves Chicago to start a new life, but escape is not so easy
